Pilot Training Program
Dreaming of becoming a commercial airline pilot?
The Alpha Aviation Professional Development Program (AAPD) offers a streamlined, cost-effective path for aspiring pilots to complete their commercial pilot training in under 180 days.
Our curriculum prepares you to become a Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot with Flight Instructor, Instrument Instructor, and Multi-engine Instructor.
Alpha Aviation, Inc. is owned and managed by airline pilots. We have a thorough understanding of the aviation industry. Our certified flight instructors and mentors provide tutorial assistance to help students succeed with lessons and throughout their professional pilot careers.
Your Path to Success
Phase 1 – Private Pilot License (PVT)
Phase 1A – Establishing a solid foundation, Procedural Validation
10 hours of Simulation, Days 1-5Start your Professional Development training in our FAA-approved simulator. Receive 10 hours of simulator instruction prior to beginning flight lessons so that a solid foundation and professional habits are established early in the aviator’s training. Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of checklist usage, cockpit discipline, aircraft systems, maneuvers, memory items, communication, weather, writing down and interpreting the ATIS, NoTAMs, normal/abnormal/emergency procedures and more. AAPD students will need to pass a simulator assessment verifying a strong foundation has been demonstrated prior to proceeding to the aircraft for continued flight lessons.
(Studies have shown that efficient utilization of simulators increase student aptitude, minimizes student errors, increases the learning curve and lowers training costs.)
(The remaining 10 hours in the student bank is available at the discretion of the flight instructor to offer extra training where needed, including night flight operations, night flight cross countries, VFR-day cross countries, GPS/VOR navigational training and more.)
Phase 1B – Solo Preparation Flight Lessons
25 Flight Hours, Days 6-45Alpha Aviation Professional Development students will conceptually demonstrate an understanding of all maneuvers and procedures needed to safely solo. Each student will be validated by a Check Flight Instructor prior to initiating solos.
Phase 1C – Non Cross Country Solo Flights
5 Flight Hours, Days 46-47One of the biggest milestones for all aviators is flying solo (no Flight Instructor on board)!
Bring your friends and family out to the airport to witness such an amazing accomplishment! Take pictures and celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime career accomplishment!
Phase 1D – Day and Night Cross Country; Solo Cross Countries
15 Flight Hours, Days 48-55Meet the Private Pilot day and night cross country aeronautical experience requirements.
At this stage, the aviator will learn how to navigate at least 50 nautical miles (straight-line distance) between at least two airports during the day and night.
Phase 1E – Checkride Prep and Checkride
5 Flight Hours, Days 56-60Practice and perform all manuevers to ACS standards. Pass your checkride and secure the privileges that the Private Pilot license provides!
Phase 1F – Drone Pilot License and Training
Immediately following the Private Pilot Checkride, the Alpha Aviator will complete computer-based training and take a multiple choice exam on a website provided by the FAA. Passing the exam will enable to the Aviator to secure the Remote Pilot (Drone) License. If the Aviator opts to work for Alpha Aviation as a Drone Pilot, the Aviator will receive drone training at no cost to the Aviator.
Phase 2 – Instrument Rating (IR), Complex Aircraft Endorsement
Phase 2A – Introduction to Complex Aircraft Operations
5 Flight Hours, 5 Simulation Hours, Days 61-655 Flight Hours plus 5 Simulation Hours of Complex Aircraft Operations and Maneuvering; Days 61-65
Phase 2B – Instrument Rating Simulation Lessons
45 Simulator Hours, Days 66-86Phase 2C – Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot Aeronautical Experience Flight Lessons
45 Flight Hours, Days 87-110At Alpha Aviation, we believe in “knocking two birds out with one stone”. Aviators will continue instrument training while completing the aeronautical experience requirements for both the instrument rating and commercial pilot license. This saves the aviator money and is the most efficient way properly utilize flight time. Aviators will successfully have a Private Pilot license with an instrument rating and complex aircraft endorsement for Airplanes, Single-Engine, Land (ASEL) by the end of Phase 2 of the AAPD.
Phase 3 – Crew Resource Management
Phase 3A – CRM Theory and Procedures Simulation
5 Simulation Hours, Day 111Simulate Acting Pilot-In-Command, Safety Pilot, Pilot Flying, Pilot Monitoring, Flying “Under the Hood” with Safety Pilot concepts.
Phase 3B – CRM Flight Training
10 Flight Hours, Days 112-113Practice flying as Acting Pilot in Command and receive Safety Pilot training while continuing CRM training.
Phase 3C – CRM Crew Cross Country Timebuilding
80 Flight Hours, Days 114-140Share the aircraft costs with a fellow AAPD aviator (who has completed all prior phases to this point) and fly around the nation as a crew on IFR Flight Plans! No flight instructor on board! The Alpha Aviation Flight Operations Department will play the role of Dispatch and ensure each crew is maintaining safety by time-building on routes determined to be safe by the crew and Alpha Aviation Flight Operations.
Phase 4 – Commercial Pilot Checkride Prep
Phase 5 – CFI Initial
Phase 6 – Instrument Instructor
Phase 7 – Commercial Multi-Engine; Multi-Engine Instructor
Phase 7A – Commercial Multi-Engine Training
Receive 10 flight hours of multi-engine flight lessons in 10 days.
Phase 7B – Multi-Engine Instructor Training
